What We Do

The Gretna Public Schools Foundation is committed to supporting educational opportunities that inspire learning, enrich teaching, and maximize innovative opportunities for all students and educators within the Gretna Public Schools district.

2024–2025 Highlights

  • Inaugural Gretna Game Changer Gala
    We hosted our first annual Gretna Game Changer Gala to support student mental and behavioral health initiatives. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised over $178,000 to advance these vital programs.
  • Scholarships for Graduating Seniors
    In partnership with alumni, community members, businesses, and generous donors, we proudly supported graduating seniors from Gretna High School and Gretna East High School. At this year’s Local Honors Night, 157 scholarships totaling over $150,000 were awarded to students continuing their education beyond high school.
  • Classroom Grants Program
    This year, the Foundation awarded 29 classroom grants totaling more than $34,000. These grants fund innovative classroom projects, enhance student learning, and create unique educational experiences.
  • Educational Excellence Awards
    In partnership with MCL Construction, we honored 16 exceptional educators and staff members across the district through our Educational Excellence Awards program.
  • Gretna Kids Connection
    The Foundation continues to oversee Gretna Kids Connection, offering affordable before- and after-school care, as well as a summer program. This service is available in all eight elementary schools within the district.
  • Professional Development Support
    We provide a variety of opportunities for educators to further their professional development and continue their educational journeys.
  • Student Needs Fund
    The Foundation is actively growing the Student Needs Fund through staff and community giving, as well as targeted fundraising drives. This fund helps ensure all students have the resources they need to succeed.
  • Gretna Alumni Network
    We are laying the foundation for a strong Gretna Alumni Network to celebrate school spirit and strengthen community ties.
  • Business Partnership Breakfasts
    Hosted throughout the year, these events bring together local business leaders to network, exchange ideas, and learn more about the Foundation’s work in the district.
  • Meta Data Center Community Action Grant
    We were honored to receive a $25,000+ grant from Meta, which will fund the purchase of Sphero Robots to enhance STEM education in all eight elementary schools.

In general, our business practices limit employee access to confidential information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.
  10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.
  11. Do We Disclose Information to Outside Parties? We may provide aggregate information about our customers, sales, website traffic patterns and related website information to our affiliates or reputable third parties, but this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this privacy policy.

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.
