How To Help

Other Ways to Give

Corporate Matching Gifts

Many corporations offer matching gift programs for employees and their families. Most programs match on a dollar-per-dollar basis, and could double or triple the size of your gift. Check with your human resources office to see whether your company offers a matching gift program. The Foundation’s Federal Charity ID Number is 36-3754393.

Planned Gifts & Bequests

Planned gifts and bequests allow you to support the Gretna Public School’s mission while receiving financial and tax benefits. Giving options range from naming the Gretna Public Schools Foundation as a beneficiary in your will to more complex arrangements.

Gifts of Securities

In most cases, a gift of appreciated securities entitles the individual to an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the effective date of the gift. The donor avoids the capital gains tax that would be due if he or she sold the stock. When making a gift of securities, the individual should transfer ownership of the stock to the Foundation. It is imperative that appreciated stocks are not sold when the intent is to make a gift of securities. Before you transfer the securities, please contact the GPS Foundation.

In-Kind Donations

The GPS Foundation welcomes gift-in-kind donations that help to support our mission. Unlike contributions of cash or securities, in-kind gifts allow donors to receive the benefit of a charitable contribution without drawing on their cash reserves. In accordance with IRS regulations, the donor is responsible for determining the value of an accepted gift. Please complete the form below for an In-Kind Donation.
